The Glenvar High boys soccer team is 5-0 after defeating Carroll County at Highlander Stadium Tuesday, 8-0. It was the 15th straight shutout, covering two seasons, for the 2024 state Class 2 champs.
Kian Fisher led the Highlanders with three goals against the Cavaliers. Wesley Feliciano and Avery McClanahan had two each and Zack Brown scored the other goal. Grayson Shepherd and Tyler Shannon split time in goal.
The Highlanders won two games last week, both by shutout. In a 3-0 win over Franklin County at Glenvar Griffin Geddes and Feliciano scored first half goals and Aidan Hylton added a goal in the second half.
Last Friday at home the Highlanders beat Patrick County for a Three Rivers District win, 10-0. Hylton had three goals and Fisher had two.
The Highlanders are now off until next Monday when they play at Radford. The Bobcats are also undefeated.
“They have a good team and Radford is always a tough place to play,” said Glenvar coach Josh Jones.
