Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg will be the site of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference track meet this weekend. Events will be held Friday and Saturday.
Last weekend in Lynchburg the Maroons competed in the WildCat Invitational at Randolph College. Elias Ammon broke the RC school record in the 1,500m, securing one of 12 total Top 5 performances for the Maroons.
Ammon snapped a 10-year-old mark in the 1,500m by more than a full second to win the event. His time of 3:57.26 eclipsed the program record of 3:58.51 set by Justin Ginnings in 2015, and ranks seventh in the ODAC and 11th in the NCAA South Region.
The RC women’s team claimed a pair of event victories and totaled 12 finishes inside the Top five. The 4×100 relay team of Nalonda Henderson, Eleanor Hinckley, Mae Kaufman and Lindsey Hobin won its race with a season-best mark of 47.48 seconds and Olivia Viers took first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.03 seconds.
