The Glenvar High golfers played in a Three Rivers District match at the River Course in Blacksburg Monday and shot a 341.
Floyd County continued its domination of the regular season with a team score of 292. Carroll County was second at 315, Radford had 319, River shot 328, Patrick County had 339 and Glenvar was next. Martinsville did not have a complete team.
“We shot much better than last year’s 369,” said Glenvar coach Shawn Duff. “We’re seeing some good improvement, but still struggling to get some scores consistently in the low 80’s.”
Isaish Cantrell of Floyd and Trace Reavis of Carroll tied for medalist with five-under-par 67 each. JD Williamson had Glenvar’s low score with a 76 followed by John Deel at 80. Rounding out the scoring were Easton Quesenberry at 91 and Jack Osburn at 94.
Glenvar was scheduled host a home match at Hanging Rock on Wednesday with all seven Three Rivers teams but results were too late for publication.
