Highlanders run at Lord Botetourt

The Glenvar High track team competed in a five school meet at Lord Botetourt High last Thursday with William Byrd, Craig County, Roanoke Valley Christian and the host Cavaliers.

Glenvar’s boys took a bunch of first places, including two firsts by Tre Dawyot in the long jump and 200. Money Shaw won the triple jump, Aldin Smith won the 3,200, Grayson Harris won the 300 hurdles and the 4×800 relay team of Smith, Asher Faught, Daniel Tozier and Cash Malcom came in first.

For the girls, Sophia Hammersley doubled up with wins in the 300 hurdles and triple jump. Aiden Beverly won the 400, Anna Hall won the 800, Lauren Smith won the 3,200 and the 4×800 relay team of Smith, Hall, Raya Bryson and Everly Shanks took first place.

Glenvar was scheduled to run at James River on Tuesday and the Highlanders will compete in the All-American Relays on Saturday.
