Highlanders will send 17 athletes to Group 2A state track meet

The Glenvar girls boys were sixth and the girls were seventh in the Region 2A West track meet at Liberty University last week.

The Appomattox boys and Giles girls took team title on a rainy day in Radford.

Glenvar’s Kilian McCroskey took a first place in the 400 meters with a time of 50.69. He was also third in the 200 and ran on the winning 4×400 meter relay team with Dustin Wade, Jack Leonard and Brady Loder. They ran a time of 3:36.15.

Also taking a first for the boys was Wade, who won the 800 with a time of 2:02.52.

For the girls, Rachel Millirons won both the 1,600 and 3,200. Rachel won the 1,600 in 5:30.59 and took the 3,200 in 11:56.86.

This week Glenvar will be taking 10 boys and seven girls to the state Group 2A Meet at East Rockingham High School in Elkton, VA on Friday and Saturday.
