Lewis runs against B’Burg, Pulaski

The Andrew Lewis track teams competed against Blacksburg and Pulaski Middle Schools last week at Salem High School.

The girls were once again led by top scorer McKenzie Eversole, who scored in all three of her events. Marley Harmon was the winner of the long jump, Anna Doyle and Micayla Black placed in the throws while Olivia Huff placed in the 400 meter dash.

Londyn Via won the discus throw. Brynn Clewis, Liliana Dean, Amoria Correll, Amelia O’Brien, Jo’Hanna Nugent, and Alayna Lewis all scored points for the Wolverines.

The boys were led by top scorer Jahamere Nance, who won all three of the jumps. Ji’Zaiah Haynes stayed undefeated in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, while Dustin Peters remained perfect in the hurdles.

Landon Nunley stayed unbeaten in the 1600 and 800 meter runs. The 400 meter relay team of Haynes, Eli Yates, Jermari Allen, and Zyere Richardson took first place along with the 1600 meter relay of Nunley, Kavion Foxx, Zavier Calloway, and Caleb Hicks.

Riley Ennis, Aaron Langfitt, Owen Jenkins, Grayson Phillips, Grant Martin, and Liam Lineberry all scored points for the Wolverines.

The teams are back in action again on Wednesday of this week at James River High School.
