Riley Geddes scored in the first minute of overtime off an assist from Colin Clapper as the Glenvar boys remained undefeated in soccer Tuesday. The Highlanders took a 2-1 win in Radford.

The host Bobcats scored early in the game and that lead held up through the first half. Glenvar finally found the net with just 12 minutes remaining as Aiden Hylton scored off an assist from Clapper, and that was how it stood at the end of regulation. Geddes goal gave the Highlanders the lead and the defense, led by captain Maddox Fisher, held the fort for the win.

Alex Byrd had four saves for the Highlanders in goal, but it was the Radford keeper who had the busy night as Glenvar outshot the Bobcats, 24-10. Glenvar improved to 10-0-1 with the win.

“It was a good win for us,” said coach Josh Jones. “We fell behind but the defense did a good job and we found a way to win.”

Glenvar’s next two games are at home against Three Rivers opponents. Carroll County is here Friday and James River comes to Highlander Stadium Monday.
