Nine Salem High seniors made their post-graduation plans know on April 8th when the school held a “signing ceremony”at the SHS gym in front of family and classmates. “Another tremendous day to get to celebrate with nine more of our student-athletes that are signing to play at the next level during our second Signing Day of the year,” said Spartan athletic director Drew Barrett. “Every one of these athletes has excelled on the playing field or court and in the classroom. The average GPA for these nine student-athletes is 3.78! This makes over 20 student-athletes in the Class of 2026 that have committed to play at the collegiate level with a couple of more still making decisions. We are extremely proud of all of them and can’t wait to keep up with them at the collegiate level.” Seated in front, with sport and college, are Anne Craig Thomas(Grove City College-lacrosse), Aniyah Fox(Blue Field University-basketball), Lexie Hart(Bluefield University-basketball), Baily Rider(Emory & Henry University-basketball) and Rylee McNeill(University of Mary Washington-lacrosse). Standing behind, left to right, are Elijah Clark(Roanoke College-soccer), Drew Perez(Sewanee-tennis), Cam Boles(Roanoke College-basketball) and Andrew Nevergold(Newberry College-lacrosse).
