The Salem High softball team saw their two game winning streak come to an end Tuesday with a 17-1 loss to Pulaski County at the James I. Moyer Complex.
Salem snapped an eight game losing streak last week with back-to-back wins. Last Friday in Roanoke they beat Patrick Henry in a River Ridge District game, 6-4. Evie Van Liew was three-for-four at the plate, including a solo home run in the seventh inning. Kennedy Pinkerman earned the win for the Spartans in the circle, allowing four hits and only one earned run in six innings. Anne Crew had two hits.
On Monday the Spartans had a non-district game with Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg and Salem took an 11-5 win. The loss to Pulaski County followed on Tuesday and the Spartans are now 4-9 on the season.
The Spartans are at Franklin County today for a non-district game. Next Tuesday, April 28, they host Cave Spring.
