Kat Gibson of Andrew Lewis Middle School (white uniform) goes to the floor to battle for the ball.

The Andrew Lewis Middle School basketball teams split games with Pulaski on Monday as the kids returned from Thanksgiving break.
Both games were at home and the boys opened with a 31-24 win. Tanner Overstreet hit two threes and scored six points to help the Wolverines grab an early lead. Kysheed Arrington led the team with four steals and Ethan Millard played solid defense for Lewis.
“The overall team defense stifled Pulaski in the third period and we were able to hold on to the lead,” said coach DeWayne Harrell as the team improved to 6-2.
The girls followed and lost for the first time, falling 31-28 as they dropped to 7-1. Kate Gibson led Lewis with 10 points, including eight in the first quarter before she ran into foul trouble.
The Wolverines were back in action Tuesday against Ben Franklin and today the boys are at Read Mountain.
